Make it right – keep it real

14 05 2009

This is not a computer generated image, this is a full scale wire frame representation of a Lamborghini Countach. Painstakingly crafter from 10mm steel tubes welded together. It is the latest, most ambitious piece in a series of wire frame sculptures created by artist Benedict Radcliffe.

And this kind of got me thinking about how much cooler it is when things actually get done for real rather than faked. It’s so easy to create realistic looking thing on computers these days that when something is done for real it seems so much more impressive.

Like Carousel, a new mini film from Philips. Created by Tribal DDB this beautifully shot movie looks amazing, but they aren’t fake people, it’s not computer trickery and there aren’t multiple cameras…. it’s just smart.
